Asian premiere of the Broadway immersive musical Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812!
On January 14, 2023, the musical "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812" (hereinafter referred to as "The Great Comet") officially premiered at the Front Beach 31 Performing Arts Center. The original Broadway cast parachuted into Shanghai, gathered an international first-class creative team, achieved a substantial improvement in stage beauty, lighting, sound, costume, technology and aesthetic integration, immersive stage effect was highly praised.

The play appeared on Broadway in 2016, with its performance characteristics of "breaking the fourth Wall" in many works, in 2017, it won the highest award of the United States stage art "Tony Award" 12 award nominations, and finally won the best musical scene design award and the best musical lighting design two awards. It was hailed by The New York Times as "the most innovative new musical on Broadway since Hamilton."
This excellent musical is adapted from Tolstoy's literary masterpiece "War and Peace", and the unimaginative creator Dave Malloy has selected the 70-page plot content of the second volume, the fifth volume, and extracted Natasha, Pierre and Anatole from the book as the main characters to rebuild a novel immersive musical. To convey to the audience the idea of "to live, to love, to have faith".
In order to create a better scene effect, the famous Korean stage designer Pilyoung Oh (Korean version of the musical "The Great Comet" and "Death Note" stage design) worked on the reconstruction, removing 400 seats in the front row, and building four sunken circular audience pools, each audience pool represents an aristocratic family in the play. Breaking the limitations of the frame stage, the theater is transformed into an immersive scene of the Russian court ball.

The brilliant light from the gorgeous chandelier, like a starry river, and the rich colors of the stage complement each other, creating a visual feast.
